An anonymous routing protocol used to hide one’s identity online. A browser extension that allows people to visit sites not listed on Google and to do so without risking their identity. It was originally created by the U.S. Navy and has since come to be used by journalists, activitists and others who desire to keep their identities and activities private. TOR became famous as the way to visit Silk Road.
